Special Announcement From The Evil Overlord:It's been a while since my last blog post. I've been grinding away behind the scenes. Sourcing and designing new product, upgrading the website, not to mention the new custom build I'm sweating blood over... But today was special and I need to share it. I Can't even begin to tell you how proud I was to bring the Baja Hoodies online today. These are the end result of literally countless hours of work. From day one I wanted custom Baja Hoodies to be the signature gear for my little Independant Buildhouse. I wanted the best and the funkiest and the fun. Here they are. Last season we would literally be up all night, hand painting, sewing and heat-pressing patches to get our first run hoodies ready for events. It was grueling. No fucking joke. And with everything that went into them, the best price I could give was $95. I needed to do better. So I spent a huge amount of time setting up a pretty complicated logistical chain to improve the product and lower the price. These things come from Baja. That's where they're made, by hand. Not China or Taiwan or Thailand or in freaking Narnia, but BAJA. That's where I have to get them from. So I found a guy that brings them across the border into California, then I found an embroidery house that would make my Aiming To Misbehave patches and attach them to the hoodies. Then I had to figure out how organize shipping between them and finally to us, so that I could bring them to market. And all of this had to be done at costs that would keep my retail price down to a reasonable amount. Not to mention the whole website that I've had to figure out how to design from scratch so that I can market this stuff. And then, just because making unicorns from fairy dust just wasn't enough of a challenge, I decided to make these customizable. So that folks could choose a favorite patch of their own to finish things off. Which meant sourcing a huge selection of embroidered patches that people could root through to finish off the fun side of things. It's been a huge, complicated and amazingly rewarding undertaking for a small businessman, with no experience in any of this, before just deciding to get it done. You may not always see or appreciate what goes on behind the scenes with all of this stuff, but today I am one seriously proud Papa. I will now break for a Lucky. Going camping for the long weekend with the love of my life, and yes, I'm going to live in my Kustom Baja Hoodie. Have an awesome holiday everybody!
